Scripture Reading:
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)The early days of a new year often bring a mixture of hope and hesitation. We make plans, set goals, and dream of better days, yet quietly, fear attempts to walk beside us. Fear of failure. Fear of uncertainty. Fear that we may not be strong enough for what lies ahead.
But Scripture reminds us of a powerful truth: fear is not from God.
God equips His children with something far greater—power, love, and a sound mind. Power to move forward even when the path is unclear. Love that anchors us when circumstances shake us. And a sound mind that allows us to choose faith over panic, trust over worry, obedience over retreat
.
Walking in faith does not mean the absence of fear; it means refusing to let fear dictate our steps. Faith is choosing to move forward, trusting that God goes before us, prepares the way, and strengthens us along the journey.
As this new year unfolds, we are not called to predict the future—we are called to trust the One who already holds it.
Reflection Questions:
What fears have been quietly influencing my decisions lately?
In what area of my life is God inviting me to step forward in faith?
How can I intentionally replace fear with trust today?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for reminding me that fear does not come from You. Help me walk forward in faith, grounded in Your power, surrounded by Your love, and guided by a sound mind. As I face this day and this year, I choose to trust You completely. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Faith grows when fear is confronted with truth. Walk forward—God is already there.
