The Duterte administration also faced extraordinary challenges. The siege of Marawi led to the declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao, a controversial but significant decision aimed at restoring order. Later, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the government implemented the Social Amelioration Program (SAP), providing financial assistance to millions of Filipino families during one of the most difficult periods in recent history.

Another aspect that stood out during Duterte's presidency was his public stance regarding Vice President Leni Robredo. Despite political disagreements, Duterte repeatedly stated that he would not support moves to impeach the Vice President.
